The Charlotte Growth Audit

A plain-English teardown of two local websites: what is working, what is quietly costing you patients and clients, and the exact order to fix it. One tab per business.

Two good businesses. Two websites getting in their way.

Both practices sell a premium service to an affluent, active Charlotte audience, and both are being quietly undercut by their own sites. Almost nothing wrong here is expensive to fix. This report grades each site, shows exactly what to do first, and lays out a 90-day plan. Use the tabs above to open each business.

What Matters Most

The three moves that carry both businesses

Different sites, same three themes. Each brand tab breaks these into a step-by-step plan.

1 · Stop the leaks

Fix the bugs first

A dead placeholder phone link and a misspelled brand name on Klaus. Legal and social links pointing to a competitor on MOTUS. These cost trust today and take hours, not weeks.

2 · Win your corner

Own the niche, not the giant terms

Klaus will not out-rank Tebby for "chiropractor Charlotte," but "shockwave therapy Charlotte" and "chiropractor SouthPark" are wide open. MOTUS can own a thin Steele Creek market.

3 · Prove it

Reviews and real faces

For premium local services, proof is the top lever for both ranking and bookings. Klaus is under-reviewed and hides its reviews. MOTUS shows none and hides its coaches.

How to read this
  • Open a brand tab to see everything for that business in one place.
  • Start with "Fix These First," then the priority matrix for sequencing.
  • Red means urgent, orange is important, gold is a nice-to-have.
  • The 90-day plan at the bottom of each tab shows who does what, and when.
  • Any number marked verify should be confirmed in your Google account before it is quoted.
How we ran it

No generic checklist. A five-analyst team pulled the raw code of every page, checked your sitemaps and structured data, reverse-engineered your booking funnels, and mapped the live Charlotte search results and competitor review counts.

One opportunity that belongs to both

Klaus treats injuries. MOTUS builds injury-resilience. They are a natural referral pair with a shared seasonal calendar: a fall "run injury to return to strength" push around the November Charlotte Marathon, and a January "assess before you train" campaign. Two aligned local brands cross-linking and co-marketing is a compounding advantage neither competitor set is using.

The foundation (hosting, HTTPS, mobile) is fine. The low scores are all in the layers that earn rankings and bookings: content, local signals, and how the proof and offer are presented.

02

Fix these first

1
A dead phone link.

At least one call button points to tel:123-456-7890, a placeholder. On a phone, tapping "call" dials nothing. Replace every phone link with +18039024695.

2
The brand name is misspelled in every browser tab and Google result.

The page title reads "Klaus Sports Chiropratic," missing the second c. It appears site-wide.

3
Three different addresses are circulating.

The website, Yelp, and Fresha each show a different street address across two ZIP codes. Two are simply wrong. Google loses trust when listings disagree.

4
No structured data anywhere.

Not a single line of the code that tells Google you are a local chiropractor, your hours, services, and reviews. Every competitor should be sending these signals.

1
Fix the phone link and title typo. Hours of work, immediate trust recovery.
2
Install an SEO plugin and write real titles, descriptions, and schema.
3
Fix the page headings. Your headline should be the main heading, not a footer widget.
4
Clean up and optimize Google Business Profile and lock one address.
5
Turn on a review engine so happy patients leave Google reviews automatically.
6
Rewrite the homepage hero and add a sticky "Call or Book" bar on mobile.
7
Build service and neighborhood pages (dry needling, shockwave, SouthPark).
8
Launch a blog to answer the questions patients search for.
04

Conversion and landing page

The homepage has the right skeleton: a free offer, a lead magnet, credentials, a sticky menu. It leaks at the moments that matter. The single most expensive miss is that the hero never says what you actually are.

Before, live now
Discover Your Potential
Explore what your body can truly achieve with tailored chiropractic care.
Three different button labels for one action: Get Started, Request an Appointment, Free Discovery Visit.
After, to test
Get back to your sport, without pain, surgery, or waiting on insurance.
Dr. Patrick Klaus (Palmer-trained, with an exercise science background) treats the root cause with adjustments, dry needling, and shockwave, one on one, every visit. Inside MOTION Fitness in SouthPark.
One button everywhere: Book My Free Discovery Visit (20 min, $0, no obligation).
Critical

Your best reviews are invisible

You have glowing Google reviews, and none appear where a cash-pay patient decides. High-ticket buyers need proof before they pay.

Add a star-rating strip under the hero, then two or three named, sport-specific testimonials with photos, for example "ran Boston six weeks later."
High

Cash-pay reads as a refusal, not a benefit

Current copy: "We refuse to allow insurance to dictate your level of care."
Reframe as a benefit: "You get the doctor, not a rotation of techs, for a full session every visit. HSA and FSA accepted, and we hand you a super-bill for reimbursement."
High

Four booking paths confuse new patients

A funnel form, Jane App, a Fresha listing, and "Book Follow-up" are all live. A first-timer cannot tell where to start.

Two doors only: new patients get one button, returning patients get a small link below it. Hide Fresha from homepage traffic.
High

The free offer is never actually sold

"Free Discovery Visit" is stated but never explained. No what-happens-next, no reassurance, no reason to act now.

Add a short block: what it is (a 20-minute sit-down with Dr. Klaus), how long it takes, zero obligation, and "no needles on day one unless you want them."

The mobile fix that pays for itself

There is no sticky mobile bar, the highest-converting element for a local health service on a phone. Add a fixed bar at the bottom: "Call" on the left, "Book Free Visit" on the right. The site is already mobile-ready, only this layer is missing.

05

SEO structure

The foundation is healthy: server-rendered WordPress, HTTPS, a valid sitemap, correct mobile setup. The problem is there is no SEO plugin installed, which is the root cause of almost everything below.

Critical

No meta descriptions, schema, or share tags anywhere

Across all five pages: zero meta descriptions, zero structured data, zero social-share tags. For a single-location medical business, the missing local-business schema is the highest-value technical gap on the site.

Install Yoast or RankMath first. It generates descriptions, share tags, and schema in one move. Then add the chiropractic, doctor, service, and FAQ schema.
Critical

Every title is misspelled and location-blind

<title>Klaus Sports Chiropratic - Discover Your Potential</title>

No title contains a city or service. "SouthPark" appears zero times on the whole site.

Per-page titles with the neighborhood and service, for example "Sports Chiropractor in SouthPark, Charlotte NC."
High

The page headings are footer widgets

Every page's main heading reads "Follow our Socials" or "Send us a message." Your actual headline is coded a level down, so the strongest ranking signal on the page is wasted.

One clear, keyworded main heading per page. Also fix the visible typos "Testimonials & REviews" and "Tailored TreatmentPlan."
Medium

The homepage is heavy and slow on mobile

Roughly 372 KB pulling 47 stylesheets and 19 scripts, all images use empty alt text, and everything is legacy PNG or JPG. That hurts speed where most local traffic is.

Turn on caching and image optimization, convert to WebP, and write descriptive alt text.
06

Local SEO and service areas

You are inside SouthPark, one of Charlotte's most affluent and active neighborhoods, and the site does nothing to claim it. Two moves matter most: fix the address mess, and build a review engine.

Critical

Pick one address and use it everywhere

The website, Fresha, and Yelp each show a different street address across two ZIP codes. Being inside MOTION Fitness adds a suite complication.

Lock one exact address (confirm the suite): 2101 Rexford Rd #50W, Charlotte, NC 28211, then correct Yelp, Apple Maps, Bing, and Healthgrades, and kill the two dead ones.
High

Optimize Google Business Profile

This is the highest-ROI local surface. Categories, services, and photos are likely thin.

Primary category Chiropractor, secondary Sports Medicine Clinic. List every service with a description, add 15-25 real photos, post weekly, and seed the questions section (cost, insurance, HSA/FSA, parking).

The bones of the message are good, which is why Conversion is the top score. Everything that helps Google find and trust you is at or near zero, which is fixable and where the biggest gains are.

02

Fix these first

1
Your legal and social links point to a competitor.

Privacy Policy and Terms both link to klaussportschiropractic.com, and a footer Instagram icon links to that chiropractor's account. This passes trust to another site and is a real compliance issue.

2
The whole site is one page, and the menu is dead.

About, Services, Client Center, and Contact all link to nothing. Every other address returns a "not found" page.

3
There is no main heading, and the title is just "MOTUS Strength."

Fourteen characters, with no service, city, or keyword for Google to work with.

4
Zero proof, and your coaches are hidden.

No reviews or testimonials anywhere. Your three coaches (Dakota Brown, Aly Blank, Kyra Severson) exist only inside the booking form. In a training studio, the coach is the product.

04

Conversion and landing page

The page structure is competent: problem, then framework, then method, then call to action. But it asks a premium buyer to book with no evidence: no proof it works, no human to trust, no idea what it costs or what happens next.

Before, live now
Train With Purpose. Build Strength That Lasts.
Private, movement-first training designed to help you move better, get stronger, and stay resilient for the long haul.
Evocative, but who is it for? A 45-year-old desk worker? A masters athlete? A post-rehab client? A visitor cannot tell in five seconds.
After, to test
Get Stronger, and Stay That Way.
Private, assessment-driven strength coaching in Steele Creek for active adults who want to keep lifting, running, and playing, without the aches, plateaus, or guesswork.
One button: Book Your Free Movement Assessment, plus a soft "See How It Works" for people still researching.
Critical

Zero social proof on a premium purchase

For a high-consideration service, proof is the number-one thing that reduces risk. A cold visitor cannot tell you apart from any other new studio making the same claims.

In order: a Google reviews widget (seed reviews first), three to five named testimonials ("Mark, 44, deadlifted pain-free for the first time in three years," video is best), and movement-screen before and after.
Critical

The coaches are the product, and they are invisible

Asking a premium buyer to book hands-on training with a faceless brand is a trust problem. You already have the assets, three named coaches, they are just in the wrong place.

Build a "Meet Your Coaches" section: real photos, full names, certifications, experience, and a one-line philosophy. Lead with the owner's story, which also fixes who the studio is for.
High

An "application" for a free visit is a mismatch

The form is about ten fields, for a free visit, with no pricing and no "what happens next." High effort is fine only if the reward feels worth it.

Cut step one to three fields and move the rest to the call, or keep the filter but add a first-visit explainer, reassurance, and a price frame. Consider testing a paid "$79 Movement Assessment, credited to month one."
High

Show the assessment, do not just claim it

"Assessment-driven" is your whole difference from a group HIIT gym, but it is told, never shown. A nearby competitor makes the same claim concrete with body scans.

Add a "what the assessment looks like" block with a photo and sample findings, and a one-line comparison table versus a group gym.
05

SEO structure

Critical

Links to a competitor in the footer

Privacy and Terms link to klaussportschiropractic.com. A footer Instagram icon links to instagram.com/klaussportschiropractic.
Create your own legal pages, repoint both links and the Instagram icon, and check the whole footer for other stray references.
Critical

One page, dead menu, no schema

The sitemap lists a single page. The menu links go nowhere. There is no main heading, no meta description, and no structured data. "Steele Creek" and "personal training" each appear zero times in the copy.

Build real pages, add a keyworded main heading, title, and description, weave in the location and services, and add health-club schema with your address, hours, and areas served.
Medium

Slow to load on mobile

29 stylesheets and 15 scripts, all images with empty alt text, all PNG. The page text is light, the request count is the drag.

Turn on the builder's optimized loading, defer and combine files, convert to WebP, and write alt text.
Medium

Bookings happen off your domain

Every button sends people to a generic funnel URL on a separate address, so that activity does not build your main site's authority.

Add a booking page on your own domain that wraps the funnel, and give the funnel form a branded name.
06

Local SEO and service areas

First, a name problem to solve

"MOTUS Strength" collides with a barefoot-shoe model, a physical-therapy brand, and others nationally, and the Charlotte studio has almost no footprint even for its own name. Priority one is defending your brand search: a real optimized site, a complete verified Google Business Profile, schema, and a consistent address, always tagged "MOTUS Strength, Steele Creek, Charlotte."

The Steele Creek market is thin, so you need far fewer reviews to lead it than Ballantyne demands. Ask every founding client in person at a win moment with a QR card, then automate a text ask after each session. Target 25 or more at 4.8 within 90 days. Numbers are third-party estimates, confirm on Google.
Critical

Create and verify Google Business Profile

710 Peninsula Ln is the registered address of Charlotte Gymnastics Academy, and you are in Suite D. Google often suppresses or merges listings at a shared address.

Primary category Personal Trainer. Always include "Suite D," use a distinct entrance photo, and verify by video. Then add 15 or more photos including coaches and an assessment, weekly posts, and the booking link.
High

Lock one consistent address

A suite-based business lives or dies on address consistency across the web.

Use exactly "MOTUS Strength, 710 Peninsula Ln, Suite D, Charlotte, NC 28273, (980) 998-0492" on the site, Google, Apple, Bing, Yelp, and Nextdoor.

Lead with what competitors do not optimize

"Assessment-driven," "private and semi-private," "athletic performance," and "strength training over 40" are all low-competition, on-brand, and high-converting. Natural partners: local physical therapists and chiropractors (including a Klaus and MOTUS cross-referral), youth sports clubs, and new-development neighborhoods on Nextdoor.
